i see your face and i feel emotional

i dont know if im sad, or nostalgic, or hurt

i dont know if im angry, or regretful

i dont really see your face anymore though

so i can avoid having to feel anything

i find this world to be so ridiculous, full of life changing moments that wind up as nothing but a fleeting thought to add salt to the wound or be a cold compress on the burning flame that is our past

there are these giant events that turn out to be merely instances that burrow into our brains forever and crawl out when we are most insecure

im pretty neutral about my entire life right now

waiting for something to happen

waiting to see who i become this time 

i just want to love myself in all of the ways that i love you

i just want to laugh and be happy as myself in whatever way that i am

i want to remember the time before you to who i was then 

i want to live for a little in my old skin to make myself feel more comfortable in this one
